An Unwanted Week of Rest...

I have been incredibly absent on social media this week... because I have strep throat. It is kicking my ass. I haven't been this sick in a while, and it's the longest break I've taken from the gym in a while.

In the past 4 days:

  • I haven't reached my step goal once

  • I haven't hit my goal macros once

  • I haven't done any of my workouts

In the past 4 days I have:

  • Gotten in all of my water

  • Spent A LOT of time in bed or on the couch

  • Gotten plenty of dog snuggles from my girls

I love me a solid routine and being on my schedule. This sucks for more than one reason. I feel miserable, but I also miss my routine of going to the gym, going for a run, walking my dogs etc. I NEED this level of rest, but it doesn't mean that mentally it's easy to just lay here and do nothing while I recover.

In case you needed to hear it today, taking a week off from the gym (whether because you're sick or for some other reason) is not going to ruin all your progress. Not hitting your macros perfectly for a week won't make you gain tons of weight back. And not hitting your step goal for a week won't mean your fitness declines significantly.
