A Big Part of Optimal Health: Hydration
I have posted about hydration before, probably on my blog and on social media, but that's just how important it is.
One question I always ask clients during the onboarding process is, what does your water intake look like? If I had to guess at a number, I would say 9 out of 10 people who begin working with me are not getting enough water when we start.
Being properly hydrated has soooo many benefits:
Helps with digestion
Supports healthy skin
Supports cognitive function
Improves athletic performance
Can help with weight loss (if that's your goal)
Supports healthy joints (super important for my fellow RA warriors)
and more...
Some ways I hit my water intake goals for the day:
Drink a huge glass of water FIRST THING - I actually fill a smaller water bottle the night before and leave it on the counter to have right when I get up. I start the day with 20oz of water already down.
Bring a water bottle everywhere - I have it when I'm running errands, I have it on my desk at work, I have it with me when I'm training a client or coaching at practice.
Give yourself time limits to finish the bottle - I know I have to finish my water bottle by lunch and fill it again for the afternoon or I'll end up having to play catch up when I get home later. You can even set a reminder in your phone to go off so you remember to take sips!
Drink water with every meal.
Another frequent conversation with clients is around how much more they're going to the bathroom once they start increasing their water intake. So you're welcome for also helping you reach your daily step goal. 😂
