Real Talk: Nobody is ALWAYS Motivated to Stay on Track
I have had those mornings where I wake up ready to crush it. I'm ready to attempt some PRs in my lift, or ready to listen to my audiobook on my long run, or just excited to nail my nutrition for the day so I can reach my goals. Everybody has those spurts of energy where you're so ready to be on track and just see those results.
You probably follow people who post their workouts consistently or their healthy meals (guilty!) and think "how do they stay so motivated?"
Real talk: Nobody is motivated all the time. There are days where I don't want to get out of bed and get my workout done before school. I dread eating my healthy meal prepped lunch and I just want to order chicken tenders from somewhere. I just want to be a lump on the couch and read my book instead of doing anything productive.
And you know what? Sometimes it's really okay to give in and have an off day. But remember, consistency is the key to success.
When I don't have the motivation to keep me going in those moments, I have to rely on my discipline and habits to get it done. I make myself get out of bed and drink a big glass of water and then assess how I'm feeling and 9 times out of 10 getting out of bed was the hardest part, and physically I feel fine, so I do the next thing and get ready for the gym.
It's not easy, but spend the time to build those habits and routines so that when you're not feeling that high of motivation to reach your goals, you still have the ability to follow through and get yourself to those results.
